Homestead Rules
1. Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations:
Rabies
Distemper/Parvo (DHPP)
Bordetella (kennel cough) – within the past 6–12 months
Canine Influenza (optional but encouraged)
Proof of vaccinations is required before the first stay.
2. Flea & Tick Prevention
Flea and tick preventative is not required but highly recommended. The Hudson Valley is a tick-prone area and we cannot guarantee that your pup will not pick up an unwanted friend or two. Dogs with active infestations will not be admitted.
3. Spay/Neuter Policy
Dogs over 8 months of age must be spayed or neutered, unless previously agreed upon. This is for safety during group play and boarding.
4. Behavior Requirements
We welcome friendly, well-socialized dogs. We cannot accept dogs who:
Show aggressive tendencies toward dogs or humans
Exhibit extreme anxiety or escape behavior
A meet-and-greet may be required before the first stay.
5. Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Boarding services must be made in advance using our website, or by email, or by phone call.
Drop-off can occur anytime between 9AM and 5PM, but must be pre-arranged.
Arrangements for drop-off and pick-up outside of regular business hours may be made for an additional fee.
We reserve the right to decline early or late arrivals if arrangements have not been made in advance.
6. Health & Illness
Do not bring your dog if they are coughing, vomiting, or showing signs of illness. If your dog becomes ill during their stay:
You (or your emergency contact) will be notified immediately.
Veterinary care will be sought at your expense if deemed necessary.
7. Emergency Contact
If you are traveling to a location where you will be unreachable by phone, you must provide a local emergency contact who is authorized to pick up your dog in case of illness, behavioral issues, or other emergencies.
8. Medications
We are happy to administer medications, but:
All meds must be in original containers.
Clear written instructions are required.
If medication is injection-based, you must reach out to us in advance to discuss.
Administration of oral meds is an additional $5 per day. Injections or other specialized meds (eye drops, ear drops, etc.) are $8 per administration.
9. What to Bring
Your dog’s regular food in labeled containers or bags (portion size and mealtimes should be noted).
Leash and collar.
Any special bedding or toys (optional—we have plenty of cozy options!). All property must be labeled with dog’s first name and last initial.
10. Payment & Cancellations
Full payment is required upon booking. This helps us hold your pup’s spot and prepare for the stay.
Full refunds are issued when cancellation is made 72 hours or more before scheduled drop-off.
If cancellation is made between 24-72 hours, a refund of 50% the total booking (including any additional services) will be issued.
If there is less than 24 hours notice or a no-show, no refunds will be issued.
If your pup’s stay includes any Holidays, a cancellation notice of 7 days is required for a full refund to be issued.
If you return early, no partial refunds will be issued—your dog’s spot was specially reserved.
Refunds are issued to the original form of payment within 5-7 of the cancellation request being approved.
11. Photo & Media Policy
We love sharing cute moments! By using our services, you agree to let us use photos of your dog on our website and social media—unless you opt out in writing. Feel free to use our Contact page to send in your opt-out notice.
